The database
for the horticultural sector contains applications from people who
are seeking work or looking for new opportunities within the sector.
How to join
the database
Send your CV and a brief description of yourself. In a covering
letter, detail what areas you are most interested in (production,
sales, technical, consultancy, administration, type of organisation,
location, other countries, etc.) If you are seeking work abroad,
please submit an English version of your CV, etc.
Data registration
laws require that you give HMC permission to store your data until
you amend it or request that it is deleted. This means you need
to give express permission in this regard in your covering letter.
For example, you could write: "I accept that HMC will store my CV
etc. until such a time as I revoke this permission/ until, date:
dd/mm/yy, and that I agree to inform HMC of any changes in my job
status."
How HMC uses
the information
HMC is not involved in headhunting. When HMC receives a request
from a company or other organisation, we will only contact the people
listed in our database who have described themselves as actively
seeking work.
Registration
in the database is free of charge and without obligation. Naturally,
the converse is that we do not actively market applicants. HMC has
extensive contacts within the horticultural sector, and consequently,
we are often approached by employers when positions are vacant.
Should we be
approached, in the first instance we contact the potential applicant
for permission to proceed with the job introduction. If this is
granted, we send a copy of the CV and other relevant details for
confidential consideration. If the potential employer expresses
interest, we help to arrange an interview. It really is that simple.
Fees
You can be included in HMC’s database free of charge.
Companies or
similar organisations which wish to use our services pay a fee equivalent
to two hours of consultancy, payable when the CV and related details
are presented. The fee is the same regardless of the number of applicants
involved. In addition, the company will be billed for any administrative
or consultancy time used directly in facilitating the process.
If the result
is not a contract of employment, only the time used is billed.
